Find the right style bathing suit for you

Determine According to Your Measurements:

BUST: Measure around the fullest part of your bust. If you are looking for a cup sized swimsuit, the cup size should correspond to your bra size.

WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline.

HIPS: Measure around the fullest part of your lower body including your hips and buttocks.

TORSO: Measure from your shoulders down your back, through your legs, and back up to the fullest part of your bust.

Determine According to Your Body Type:

Hourglass: If you are curvy overall, have hips and shoulders with similar widths, a full rear and thigh, and slim and shapely lower legs, you should look for swimsuits that will keep the eye busy or accentuate the waist. Look for allover prints, halters, & V-necks. Side details can highlight your curves.

Triangle: If you have more prominent hips, thighs, and rear, and less prominent shoulders and bust with average to large legs, look for swimsuits with a print or light color top and solid, dark bottom. Swimdresses and tankinis with skirts work really well with this body type.

Square: If you have more prominent hips, thighs, and rear, and less prominent shoulders and bust with average to large legs, look for swimsuits with a print or light color top and solid, dark bottom. Swimdresses and tankinis with skirts work really well with this body type.

Oval: If your bust, waist, and hips are of a similar size and you can consider your hips as square shaped, your bust as small, and your arms and legs as slim, stick to swimsuits with halters and detailed necklines to draw the eye upwards and look for tummy control lining. One pieces or swimdresses with princess seams and empire waistlines can help slim you down.

Inverted Triangle: If you have a full bust, waist, and upper back with less full hips, a flat rear, pronounced tummy and midriff, and slim arms and legs, swimsuits with an underwire bra or skirted bottoms will really help keep you balanced. A wide, square neck can narrow your shoulders.

Measure your shoe size

Items needed: Paper, Tape, Pencil/Pen, Ruler

  1. You will need to measure your feet in the middle or end of the day.
  2. Since your feet are not exactly the same, you will need to measure both feet. Then use the larger size of the two.
  3. Trace your feet on a piece of paper wearing the socks that you would be wearing with the shoes that you are buying.
  4. The best way to trace each foot is while sitting down.
  5. Secure a piece of paper to the floor with your tape.
  6. Place your pencil securely against your foot. Holding it as straight as possible, trace all the way around.
  7. To determine your foot length, take your ruler and measure the distance between the top of your toes to the bottom of your heal. Write this number down.
  8. To determine your foot width, measure the distance of the two widest points in your tracing.
  9. Subtract 0.2 (5mm) from your measurements for the space between your foot and the pencil line.

Remember that using a ruler will not give you an exact measurement of your foot. When you can, it is always best to have your foot measured by a professional.

Measure your head for a hat

To find your hat size use a flexible tape measure and measure around the middle of your forhead. If a tape measure is not available use a string and then measure it against a ruler. Be sure not to pull the tape measure to tight around your head.

When you are buying an adjustable hat you do not need to measure your head.

  2. Measure your hips while standing straight with your heels together. Measure the fullest part of your hips. Make sure to keep your measuring tape level.
  3. Measure your inseam by measuring the inside of your leg from the cotch down to where you would like the pants to end.

OR

  2. Measure your inseam of your leg from the crotch down to the top of your shoe.

OR

Take a pair of pants that fit you well. Lay them out flat.

  1. Measure the inside of the waistband.
  2. Measure from the crotch(inside pant leg seam) of the pants to the cuff.

Since clothing manufactures differ, it is always best to check the websites sizing/measuring guidelines where you are purchasing your pants.
